Well, i’m not doubting that ash’s pika is a boy (though, it would be awesome if it was a girl) but, they didn’t have that whole different gender markings thing made up then.
pikachu a boy because u can tell the difference because boy pikachus have a lightning shaped tail and girls have round tails so pikachu has a lightning shaped tail so pikachu is a matter of fact boy
