{"id":186,"date":"2005-01-12T23:33:48","date_gmt":"2005-01-13T04:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kev.needham.ca\/blog\/?p=186"},"modified":"2005-01-12T23:33:48","modified_gmt":"2005-01-13T04:33:48","slug":"an-interesting-idea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kev.needham.ca\/index.php\/2005\/01\/12\/an-interesting-idea\/","title":{"rendered":"an interesting idea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I saw the tagline for the ESPNHL, a replacement league for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhl.com\" title=\"I wanted to put one word here, but it wasn't very nice, so I didn't\">NHL<\/a> that the folks at <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/\" title=\"Their commercials are still the best, and they developed PTI\">ESPN<\/a> came up with. I thought it would be very <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.espn.go.com\/espn\/page2\/index\" title=\"Who knew sports reporting needed a tabloid?\">Page 2<\/a>-ish, but it turns out that it&#8217;s pretty well thought out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/swf\/nhl\/espnhl\/espnhl.html\" title=\"Ignore the stupid talking heads, or just smack them with your pointer\">Check it out<\/a>, it&#8217;s actually chock full of good ideas. I&#8217;m pretty sure the Canadians working there put most of it together&#8230; at least, I <em>hope<\/em> they did, because the alternative would be awfully tough to stomach.<\/p>\n<p>Normally I&#8217;d complain about Ottawa being left out, but there&#8217;s an expansion provision in place, and this place really doesn&#8217;t deserve to have a team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I saw the tagline for the ESPNHL, a replacement league for the NHL that the folks at ESPN came up with.
